A selection of activities used in early years linked to the book Dear Zoo. Maths activities include weighing the animals using numicon and literacy activities include using talk for writing actions, drawing story maps and innovating the story.

Some activities we used in Early Years linked to the story 'The Papaya that Spoke' using talk for writing. Children used actions to retell the story, made story maps then innvoated the story to create a new story 'the strawberry that spoke.'

This includes 11 weeks planning for the topic animals. There is Literacy/Numeracy planning - 2 lessons per week, skills planning for the other areas of the classroom and several worksheets. 2 weeks of planning linked to 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' Includes Literacy and Numeracy activities for Early years and plans for the other areas of the classroom. There is also some worksheets and some are included in the free resources section e.g pictures to match retelling the story and counting worksheets.

A selection of homework activities for Reception children. Most of them are maths related e.g going on a number hunt, shape hunt and adding 1 more.
